Becoming a mortgage broker does not happen overnight! In order to be able to practice the profession in Quebec, candidates must pass some steps successfully. However, before moving on to the first stage, a reflection is needed on the intended field of practice, namely mortgage brokerage.

Following a basic training program is the first step towards a mortgage broker career. Only the success of a recognized basic training program, available through Mortgage Professionals of Canada, makes it possible to access the OACIQ certification exams and to exercise the brokerage. It should be noted that as of May 1, 2020, the regulatory body will be the Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF).
